This was the first feather quilt, and now I show you the second one.
The major change is I made it bigger so I can have a lot more background space to have fun with doodle quilting.
The feather itself is bigger too and quilting on it got bolder. More movement, more fun.
The stem got longer more like a quill. I thought of adding some quote written by this feather quill but the I realized the feather is leaning wrong way for that. Anyway I am not good at literature.
The initial plan for the quilting on the background was completely different but once I started echo quilting around the feather I just kept adding more doodling and covered the whole space. Doodling is very addictive! Some flower motif, leaves, spirals and feather are there.
The first border, yellow one was quilted with small pebbles and the second one one was quilted more organized or sophisticated art deco design, well in my mind.
It’s 26″ by 46″H, art wall hanging quilt.
