Seven facts about me?
I live in countryside of Ireland with my husband, a daughter and a cat and I have a little studio space for making quilts, teaching and having a little quilt shop.
I didn’t properly sew until my daughter was about two and at that time I made a something resembles quilt in my head which I had no book, magazine, website, blog, whatever you might look up. I used some fabric I had and a hand turning antique Singer which we bought for 1 pound! The result was not good as you can imagine. And luckily I have no photo of it to show you :p
Then I bought a book and sometime later an electric powered sewing machine! Then sometime after, a very long time after, I bought rotary cutting tools some magazines and proper cotton fabrics, cotton thread, and wadding! I can’t remember when.
I did some craft as a child like embroidery, cross stitch, crochet and something else. I didn’t knit which I don’t know why.
When I started quilt making , I couldn’t find any shop here in Ireland or on-line and that was year 2002! So I went to a local curtain factory to get some scraps (well, I didn’t know any better then). This quilt is still in shape but just about! And I am teaching the owner of that factory how to make quilts for more than six years now.
I went to a college called Kyushu Institute of Design where I studied Acoustic design. That means I studied about anything to do sound from hearing and talking, theory of music, speakers and microphones to sound environment. Most things there involved physics and math. I still don’t understand chaos theory though.
The last fact is it’s my birthday today!
Now, to the blogs I love reading and would like to nominate for One Lovely Blog Award. I’m sure at least some of them have been nominated before. Please visit them and I’m sure you’ll find a lot of inspiration ))
