Last week I picked these combination of fabrics for the backing of quilt. Light salmon pink flower print by Jennifer Sampou and black and white Batique.
Pinned and I started quilting by in ditch and then moved to free motion quilting on the border.
And I bound it as you can see. I move a quilt around a lot during the quilting and found the edges getting damaged. To avoid that I put binding before started quilting in the main part. Because I quilted in ditch around the border and the border itself quilted already, it won’t move. I machine stitched this binding and I still don’t like the look of it. When I finish all, I will re do it by hand.
Now time to think what to do with main part…. starting from the very middle.
Looks like so much fun trying different motifs! I love your tip about binding and then going into the middle.
Getting to know different fillers and how to do it. Don’t forget to quilt in ditch certain amount before quilting borders, otherwise you will be in trouble!
